My name is Sophie, and I’ve been dancing for 5 years. My passion for dance started during Covid, when I was stuck at home and looking for something to lift my spirits. In late 2020, I began ballet at Danceworks, but soon switched to Sharon’s to join a friend—and I’m so glad I did. That’s when I truly realized how much I loved dancing and how much it meant to me. Over time, I found my favorite styles: hip hop and jazz. Starting dance at 12 wasn’t something I expected, and sometimes I wish I had started earlier. But I’ve learned that it’s never too late to discover something you love. Dance has helped me grow into a more confident and creative person, and I’ve met so many amazing people along the way. Miss Amanda and Miss Janine have made my experience incredibly special, always encouraging me and making a lasting impact. Looking ahead, I plan to attend County College of Morris for two years, then transfer to Montclair to finish my degree. No matter where life takes me, dance will always be a part of who I am.
