Your Comprehensive Recital Guide: Ensuring a Smooth Experience at Sharon's Studio of Dance & Music

At Sharon's Studio of Dance & Music, we're thrilled to present our upcoming recital at Memorial Jr School in Whippany. As the big day approaches, we want to ensure that all parents and performers are well-prepared for an unforgettable experience. To help you navigate through the excitement, we've put together this comprehensive recital guide. Let's dive in!

  1. Important Details:

  • Location & Timing: All recitals and dress rehearsals will take place at Memorial Jr School in Whippany. We urge parents to review the schedule with their children to avoid any confusion.

  • Promptness Matters: Shows and dress rehearsals will start on time. Please ensure timely arrival to avoid disruptions. We’d like to see children 30 minutes prior to their call time at dress rehearsal, and 45 minutes prior to their call time at the recital.

  1. Ticket Information:

  • Purchase & Seating: Tickets will be available for purchase at any non-sold out performance. Toddlers must have a purchased seat or sit on an adult’s lap. Please note that strollers are not permitted in the auditorium due to fire code regulations.

  • No Food or Drink: For the comfort of all attendees, kindly refrain from bringing food or drink into the auditorium.

  1. Show Details:

  • Duration: The recital will last approximately 1 ½ hours.

  • Early Arrival: Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Adults, drop your children off in the designated dressing room (cafeteria) before finding your seats. Children performing are not allowed in the auditorium until after the finale.

  • Performer Arrival: Performers should arrive dressed in their first costume, with a cover-up (ex: a large button-down shirt) until they enter the building.

  • Dress Rehearsal: This is a closed rehearsal. Limit one guardian per child to drop them off in the dressing room before proceeding to the auditorium. Children will not practice the finale during the dress rehearsal.

  1. Preparation Tips:

  • Class Moms: Please stay until each child is picked up. Students can bring crayons and coloring pages for entertainment.

  • Proper Attire: Ensure proper shoes, correct colors, labeled accessories, and tights worn under costumes. No jewelry or visible undergarments allowed.

  • Hair & Makeup: Hairstyles should be French braid or bun, and makeup should be sufficient with bright colors.

  • Flowers: Traditional and suggested, but please refrain from running up to the stage during the performance. Flowers can be given to children after the show. They will also be available for purchase at the recital.

  1. Additional Notes:

  • Last Class & Breaks: Note the schedule for the last class and upcoming breaks on our website calendar.

  • Boys Participation: Boys aged 7 and up should stay in the audience with parents until four numbers before their routine. Let the office know if you need a ticket for him. Adults will bring their sons backstage, and they will return to their seats after their performance.

We hope this guide helps you prepare for an amazing recital experience at Sharon's Studio of Dance & Music. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's make this recital a memorable one for everyone involved!
