Our annual dance & music recital is less than one month away! Whether it’s your first recital, or you’re a recital pro, it’s NORMAL to get nerves before going on stage and performing in front of friends, family, teachers, and strangers!
We’ve put together our top 5 tips to decrease performance nerves -
Practice, practice, practice! The more familiar you are with the material you are performing, the more confident you will be.
Visualize yourself succeeding. Imagine the performance going off without a hitch, and how great it will feel when it's over.
Get plenty of rest the night before. Being well-rested can make all the difference in your performance.
Take some time to relax and clear your mind before the performance. Listen to calming music, practice meditation, or take a few minutes to do some stretching.
Remind yourself that you are capable and talented. Everyone gets nervous before a performance, but you can overcome those nerves and do your best.
