Top 5 Reasons We're Thankful for Dance!
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, everyone is starting to think about what they are most thankful for. When we ask ourselves what we are thankful for, the answer is simple: dance. There are countless reasons for why we are thankful for dance, but today we would like to share our top 5! In dance class, of course, you learn to dance. However, there is so much more to learn in the dance studio. Dance classes help teach students confidence, self-expression, and responsibility.
Regardless of how frequently students are or aren't at their studio, they should be able to think of it as a second home. Students are able to develop special relationships and bonds with their fellow classmates, teachers, and studio director, because they are all connected by a common passion: dance. At Sharon's Studio of Dance & Music, we pride ourselves on having built a community that is more like a family, our dance family.
Not only is dance fun, but it is a great form of exercise for both your body and mind. The physical movements help to keep our bodies fit and healthy. Our minds are exercised by learning new things and memorizing choreography. Dancing also releases endorphins which elevate our mood by minimizing stress and depression. Overall, dance helps improve an individual’s well being.
4. Self-Esteem & Self Expression.
Dance allows us to express our feelings and emotions in a creative way. Here at Sharon’s, we pride ourselves on creating a safe, nurturing environment, where our students can feel comfortable and confident expressing themselves.
One of the most important things, if not THE most important this is that at dance, we have FUN! Dance helps us escape from the daily stressors of school and life in general, and enjoy ourselves.
