FREE Music Trials This Week!

singing lessons in whippany

If your child loves music and has been wanting to learn to play an instrument, or take singing lessons, the time is now! This week, October 15-20, Sharon’s Studio of Dance & Music is offering FREE music trial classes.

We offer lessons to students ages 5 and up in guitar, piano, drums, and/or voice. Our music lessons are private and one on one to ensure an individualized learning experience.

Our Classes:

Piano: Our faculty offers a variety of piano styles, including classical, jazz, and popular music. We match our piano teachers with students based on their particular age, ability, and interest. We typically start piano lessons as early as age five and recommend a 30 minute lesson each week.

Voice: Our students enjoy the freedom to learn to sing everything, from their favorite pop artists' latest radio hit to a classic piece of music that their mother really enjoyed. Students will learn how to breathe properly, how to increase their range, proper pitch, how to project, and of course, stage presence. Our private, one-on-one voice lesson length is 30 minutes.

Guitar: Our guitar lessons include acoustic, electric, and bass guitar. Our guitar staff teach the proper theory and technique no matter the style of music each student is interested in. We typically start guitar lessons at age seven, but can start children younger if they use a junior sized-guitar. We recommend one-on-one lessons starting at 30 minutes in length.

Drums: The drum is a member of the percussion group of instruments. Drums consist of at least one membrane, called a drumhead or drum skin that is stretched over a shell that is struck with hands or drumsticks. Our drum lessons begin with a practice pad and drumsticks. We typically start drum lessons at the age of seven. Our private, one-on-one drum lessons are 30 minutes in length.

Meet Our Instructors:

Jeanette, voice teacher and vocal coach, sang her first solo at age seven and became a soloist in church at age 12. She went on to study voice with the best teachers in Chicago. Later, she joined two prestigious Chicago choral groups. One group sang music of the Middle Ages and the other was devoted to Baroque music. Miss Jeanette has soloed with several choirs, chamber groups, and orchestras and sung with many of the best musicians in the United States and abroad. As a vocal teacher, she has coached students for auditions to highly sought after solo singing positions. Miss Jeanette's piano students advance rapidly and some have gone on to study music in college. Miss Jeanette holds a B.M. degree in Musicology from Roosevelt University (The Chicago Musical College). In addition, she received a Certificate of Music Therapy from The Institute for Music Health and Education in Boulder and is a lifetime member of the Sound Healers Association. Not only does she teach piano and voice, but she has led courses in music therapy both here and in Scandinavia. Miss Jeanette was also a music critic for several years and has conducted several choirs. Her latest endeavor, in addition to teaching and giving courses, is teaching people with sleep apnea specific singing techniques that aid in the recovery of sleep apnea and snoring.

Mitch is thrilled to join the music faculty at Sharon’s School of Dance and Music. Mitch is a professional guitarist, pianist and singer with over 20 years teaching students of all ages. Mitch attended Manhattan School of Music where he studied classical guitar, piano, and voice. Mitch regularly performs solo and with his group “No Strings Attached” throughout the tri-state area.
