Music Class Descriptions
What we offer at Sharon's Studio of Dance & Music
Private Lessons are available throughout the year.
Children’s Singing Lessons: Ages 5-8, ½ hour
Our private singing lessons for children, will focus on learning to read rhythms, rhythm games, short songs, hearing and imitating pitch, and building confidence in live performances.
Voice Lessons: Ages 9 and up, ½ hour
Our private voice instruction will be based on classical technique. Students will learn elementary music theory, and the building blocks for singing well in any genre. Warm up and technical exercises will be combined with songs to develop technique and confidence. Students are encouraged to select some of their favorite songs to, and bring their personality into their singing. We have an excellent vocal teaching staff and many of our teachers perform professionally.
Group Music Lessons
Group music lessons are designed for children of varying abilities and experience. These classes are designed to develop musical skills and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Piano Lessons: Age 5 and up, ½ hour
Piano students will have one-on-one piano instruction. These private piano lessons are designed to help students learn to read music, play various songs at the piano, accomplish technical scales and exercises. We have an excellent piano teaching staff. Students will play selections chosen by the teacher, and are also encouraged to bring their own songs when appropriate.
Guitar Lessons: Ages 8 and up, ½ hour
Guitar lessons include acoustic, electric and bass guitar. We have an excellent guitar teaching staff and teach guitar lessons in everything from rock to jazz, classical to pop. Typically a student would be 8 before starting guitar lessons, due to their hand size, but some younger students start with a junior sized guitar. Our private guitar lessons are one-on-one instructions and lesson length is 30 minutes.
