Musical Theatre - Acting Lessons
Acting Classes for Children and Teens
Call us if you are looking for acting classes for children, acting school for kids or teens acting classes. We believe we are one of the best acting schools in Morris County.
Acting classes are centered on encouraging and praising each student for who they are and merging this into their work. Our students learn to create a unique, original character that is truly their own. In doing so, the young actor develops a love for the work and with this, the ability to flourish as both an actor and person.
Acting Classes for Children and Teens
Musical theater classes for children at Sharon’s are fun and packed with excitement. We incorporate into all of our drama classes for children & teens acting, singing, dialogue and dancing. Typically, the type of dance taught in the kids acting classes is musical theatre jazz. We also incorporate ballet, tap, hip hop and acrobatics on a minimal level into our musical theatre dance class.
The class is 45 minutes in length and can range from a short, one act entertainment to learning several different musicals. Children’s theater games and staging are brought into the acting class which stimulates the child’s imagination. Circle activities and role playing are fun, fun, fun and bring out the drama for kids!
Some of the best-loved musicals, which our students have performed, are Annie, Oliver, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma and West Side Story to name a few.
Who Can Take Musical Theatre Classes
Acting and drama classes for kids start at the age of 5 and go to the age of 13. Acting and drama classes for teens start at the age of 11 and go through high school.
What to wear in Musical Theatre Classes
In our drama classes, children and teens are required to wear comfortable clothing they can move and stretch in easily. Students may also wear leotard, tights, jazz or yoga pants and a t-shirt for musical theatre classes. Jazz shoes or jazz sneakers in black are the required shoe for class.
