What we offer at Sharon's Studio of Dance & Music
MOMMY & ME
Mom, dad, grandparent or caregiver joins this fun and interactive class with child. This is a lightly structured dance class consisting of singing, ballet, creative movement and tumbling. The class helps the development of motor skills as well a communication and social skills....read more
TWINKLING TWO'S
A 45 minute dance class for 2 year olds! They will have fun with rhythm, singing, creative movement and expression while exploring the music they love.
COMBINATION DANCE CLASSES
Classes are combined to give the student a strong foundation and well-rounded study of dance....read more
Ages 3-4 (Pre-school)
This level combines ballet, tap and acrobatics in a 45 minute class.
Ages 5 (Kindergarten)
This level combines ballet, tap and acrobatics in a 1 hour class.
Age 6-7 (1st – 2nd grade)
This level combines ballet, tap and jazz in a 1 hour and 15 minute class.
Ages 8 - Adult
These levels combine ballet, tap and jazz. Each class is ½ hour, 45 minutes or 1 hour in length depending on age.
HIP HOP
Hip Hop combines jazz, street and funk styles in a high energy class, developing technique, self confidence and stage performance........read more
HIP HOP AND GYMNASTICS COMBINATION
This class combines Hip Hop and gymnastics. Mat and floor work in basic tumbling advancing to walkovers, handsprings, aerials, etc.
LYRICAL
Lyrical tells a story through dance and combines classical ballet, modern and jazz technique. This class develops strength, flexibility and balance with a strong ballet base.
BREAK DANCING
Break classes are the extension of hip hop. Break requires a great deal of upper body strength. Many of the dance moves are on the floor using your arms. A very popular Break video is “You Got Served”.........read more
IRISH STEP
Soft Shoe is the ballet version of Irish dancing and Hard Shoe is the tap version of Irish dancing. Soft Shoe is recommended in addition to taking Hard Shoe...........read more
BALLET
Ballet classes focus on building strength, poise, proper body alignment, turnout and extension in an expressive atmosphere. Ballet is the basis of all dance disciplines..........read more
POINTE
Pointe is the extension of ballet class. Dancers must be 11 years of age, have had at least one year of ballet training and need permission from the instructor to be eligible for pointe.
JAZZ
Jazz is a fun filled class focused on improving technique, strength, and flexibility which will enhance student’s jumps, turns, and stage performance. Funk and Broadway styles are taught.....read more
TAP
Tap develops rhythm and sound coordination skills in an upbeat class.
MUSICAL THEATRE
This class combines dance, acting and drama.....read more
ACTING LESSONS
Students learn the different elements of stage performance including characterization, timing, body language, projection, stage presence and breathing. Fun theatre games with developmental exercises, both scripted and unscripted, encourage the student's imagination to run wild!
PERFORMING GROUPS
A fun and nurturing non competitive group which performs an additional 4-5 times a year.
COMPETITION TEAMS
A positive environment for the serious dancer. Importance of school spirit, good sportsmanship and team effort are taught.
BELLY DANCE
Students will engage in traditional Egyptian technique, choreography and performance. Celebrate this ancient art form as well as your inner beauty.
CHEER CLASSES
This cheer dance class consists of dance, tricks, voice projection, squad formations, pom poms and cheer!
